This monitor is surprisingly sensitive to the slightest movement. It definitly picks up on breathing movement.
The receivers not only give very clear sound but also show the temperature of the room. The receivers also have a sturdy little clip on the back so you can clip it to your shirt and walk around hands free. The receivers give you a warning when the batteries start to go, it beeps once every 15 seconds.
